How besummoned works

Last changed on

Create an event, share the link, and let people say if they are coming or not. That's the basic idea behind besummoned.

No Signup Required

You just create an event and share the link. You can even edit the event later and manage attendees without having to sign up!

Creating an Event

The only required fields for creating an event are the event title and a start time. There are also optional fields for the event description, location, and end time as expected from an event management application.

Several additional options are also available to further customize the event, such as setting a registration deadline, limiting the number of attendees, and hiding the list of attendees.

Joining an Event

People you share the link with will see the event details and two fields for joing the event. One field is for their name, and the other is for their email address.

After joining, they will see an option to add the event to their calendar. The event will be added to their calendar with the event title, location, start time, end time, and a link to the event page.

Managing your Events

If you are the event creator, you can manage your events from the same device and browser you used to create the event. You simply visit the same event page as your attendees, and you will see a button to manage the event.

From here you can edit or delete the event, see and manage the attendees list, and copy all the attendees' email addresses to your clipboard if you want to send them an update.

Formatting the Description Field

You can write plain text in the description field when creating an event and your page will look just fine. If you want to add some formatting like different levels of headers, lists, make some text bold etc, you can use markdown directly in the description field.

I have written a small guide on how to format the description field with markdown here.

You can always use the 'Preview' button to see how the description will look before creating the event.

Who is besummoned for?

Anyone is of course welcome to use besummoned, but I think it's especially useful for teams and companies.

I have worked as a software developer consultant for some time, and all teams tend to have social gatherings. This platform is inspired by the need to facilitate the organization of these events in a quick and simple way.

besummoned is however also useful for parties and other social events with friends.

Feedback and Feature Requests

I am always looking for feedback and feature requests. If you have any ideas for how to improve besummoned, please let me know. You can reach me on x.com/skulsta.
